The aim of this course is to introduce the student to the use of various materials such as charcoal and "sanguinia" in order to enable him to recognize form and graphite ( pencil) in order to deepen his work by the technique of chiaroscuro.

These techniques will be put into practice by studying still life and the live model. During the course, pen and ink will be used and the use of colour will be introduced with the use of colour pencils, chalk and pastel.

The course includes theory and a series of visits to museums and collections of drawings.

Detailed program:

-Knowledge of the materials; The different kind of papers and instruments use for drawing 

-Study of the composition. Line, form, theory of the shadows 

-Elements of perspective and visual perception 

-Methods to point out the proportions with the use of the pencil 

-Study or the form; Use of charcoal and sanguine 

-The technique of chiaroscuro; Use of graphite (pencil) 

-Pen and ink 

-The color; Use of pencils, chalks and pastels

 

 

 


 

 

During the drawing course the students will be introduced to the use of various materials such as: charcoal, sanguine and pencil.  As regard to painting: studies include the use of tempera, oil and acrylic colours.  Using these various materials they will learn to interpret the form of still life and figure drawings with live models.  They can also work on expressing more fully their own ideas or in copying a work of art.

¦ Use of ink and introduction to the colour with pencils, chalks and pastels

 

 

 

Painting:

 

¦ Knowledge of the materials.  The different kind of instruments use for painting

¦ Study of the color with tempera

¦ Copy of the drawing in wood and canvas with powder technique

¦ Use of oil colour

¦ Use of acrylic colours

¦ Final varnishing of paintings

 

 

 

Accomodations in the program will be made for students with varying degrees of experience.

Visits to museums and exhibitions will round off the course.

 

 

This course is available in the following levels of attendance:

 

Intensive course: 80 hours a month

Semi-intensive course: 40 hours a month

Corso Base: 20 hours a month

 

Duration: from one month to one year

Levels: basic and advanced

 

 

 

Lessons are taught in English and Italian.

At the end of the course students will receive a certificate of participation (Diploma)
